Reading and re-reading

I am reading Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake trilogy. I’ve read it before, of course (I am an Atwood super fan) but that was years ago. My eyes are older now, my brain more mature. I like to think so anyway. However, I proved that point wrong when I got my pencils out and attempted to draw a Mo-hair sheep and a rackunk. J looked at my childish and, quite frankly, awful pictures and thought I’d been foraging for things I shouldn’t. (I hadn’t.)

I should stick with reading and writing.

It got me thinking about what books I’ve read more than once. It seems a silly thing to do, life is too short and there is so much to read. But I do, I suspect many of you do too. So, here is my list of books I’ve read more than once…

Fear and loathing in Las Vegas. It’s not too long and entirely entertaining.

The testaments, the follow up to the Handmaid’s tale. I read it through twice in a row. I think I read it too quickly, too excited to find out what happened and I felt reading it slower would do it more justice. I was right.

Brave new world. I must have read that a hundred times. Have you seen the TV adaptation too? Worth a watch if you love the book.

1984. I mean, who hasn’t read that more than once?

What books have you gone back to? Let me know. xx
